AMBIANCE Project Launches CEN Workshop on Biobased Products for Outdoor Use
We are pleased to announce that the European Committee for Standardization (CEN ) has officially published the draft project plan for a new CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) initiated by the AMBIANCE project.
The workshop, titled “AMBIANCE- Biobased products for outdoor use ”, sets the stage for developing a standardised framework to evaluate the durability of biobased materials when exposed to outdoor conditions. This includes resistance to factors such as UV radiation, moisture, temperature changes, and biological agents like fungi or insects.
The publication of the CWA draft project plan titled "Biobased products for outdoor use: durability against external agents" is a key milestone, marking the formal launch of the CWA creation process. It invites interested stakeholders—researchers, industry actors, testing bodies, and standardisation experts—to participate in shaping this important document.
This initiative reflects AMBIANCE's mission to promote sustainable innovation by supporting the development of high-performance, environmentally friendly materials for long-term outdoor use. By establishing shared guidelines for assessing durability, the CWA will help foster trust, transparency, and comparability across the bio-based product sector.
We invite all interested parties to get involved and contribute to this collaborative effort - stay tuned for further details!
